Not at all. Been sitting way too long. Entire team is off tonight...so I take it we're gonna win

Definitely. Looked sluggish, sloppy, and disinterested for the most part. Credit to Carolina for not giving the Wild much to work with

Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts column focuses on the Wild. Nothing really new here, though.

Wasn't aware of Fletch being a big believer of advanced stats. While sabermetrics seem to be the rage in baseball, I never really thought of something similar in hockey. Nice to see the FO use all the tools available to their disposal (cough, cough... paying attention Twins?)
Also funny how defensive Yeo became whenever the dump and chase criticism was brought up, yet now he admits the change in philosophy and how much more effective it can be.
I still think this team doesn't quite have the personnel to execute like Chicago, Anaheim, SJ... but they're getting there. Thanks for the link

I'm just speculating, but I think Yeo defended the dump and chase previously because he isn't going to come out and say, "Our players aren't skilled enough to play that game", even though that was the case.
It's easy for us to fire off these criticisms, but the coach can't necessarily publicly make those even if he thinks it's true.

Interesting thing about that is Tim Wharnsby, from CBC, does a Monday column - kind of an around the league style column. He has been putting a section in there since the start of the season tracking the performance of the likely goalies on Team Canada's radar for the Olympics (Luongo, Price, Smith, etc.). A few weeks ago he added Harding to the list based on his numbers, but I haven't seen him say anything about Harding again. I don't think Team Canada would take Harding, but it would be interesting to see if speculation ramps up and/or he gets consideration if he continues to perform at this level.

Good point. It just irked me when he said pretty much every other team in the league ran the same style offense. Every team but Chicago, evidently

I don't see how Canada could overlook the experience and comfort factor that the other guys give them just because Harding is having a spectacular start to the season. It would be great to see him get some consideration, but anything more would seem a little disingenuous to me.

I don't think they would seriously consider him unless a lot of the main guys in the mix got injured or were just playing awful and he continued to be as good as he has been. There's always going to be the health risk with his MS even if he has no other physical ailments.

But, it is Team Canada and the Olympics. You never know what drama will unfold when it comes to picking the team.
